Starbucks to Open New Location in Queens Plaza

April 8, 2019 By Christian Murray

Starbucks, the global coffee giant, is opening a new location in the heart of Queens Plaza.

Signage has gone up for the new storefront at the corner of Queens Plaza South and 27th Street. The coffee shop is going in on the ground floor at 42-10 27th Street, a newly-developed, 20-story building that is right next to the Queensboro Plaza N/R station.

The new location will be the second Starbucks storefront in Long Island City south of Queens Plaza. The company got a foot hold in the area when it opened at 26-14 Jackson Ave. in August 2017.

Several cafes have opened in the Queens Plaza/Court Square area in the past two years. Toby’s Estate opened at 26-25 Jackson Ave. in 2017, while Sweetleaf opened a new location last month at 28-10 Jackson Ave.

Starbucks’ corporate office could not be reached for comment.
