New Store to Open on Ditmars Offering Meat Straight from the Owner’s Farm

35-07 Ditmars Blvd

March 13, 2014 By Michael Florio

A new store specializing in grass-fed, hormone-free meat is opening at 35-07 Ditmars Boulevard next month.

The store, to be called Nature’s Taste, will be getting its meat and poultry delivered daily from the farm the proprietor owns in Riverhead, Long Island.

Theo Toumazou, the owner of Nature’s Taste, has a 13-acre farm where he raises Angus cattle (beef), Berkshire pigs, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, Moscovy ducks, goats and sheep.

Customers will be able to buy fresh meat, eggs and pies that essentially come straight from his farm.

There will also be some prepared foods for working people who want to pick something up on the way home.

Toumazou has already been selling his meat at the Long Beach farmers market. Furthermore, a few stores Astoria have been buying his organic eggs.

However, Nature’s Taste will be Toumazou’s first brick-and-mortar store.
