Sept. 14, 2015 By Jackie Strawbridge

A toy- and Christmas-focused expansion of DII Deals and Discounts will open on Broadway in a former Rite Aid.

DII is located at 36-11 Broadway, and is one of the chain’s several franchises selling home good ands apparel throughout New York and New Jersey. The expanded store will stretch into 36-01 Broadway, which housed a Rite Aid until its closure earlier this summer.

Banners and signs posted on the building advertise an “expanded super center” focused on toys and holiday supplies. The signs refer separately to both a toy department and an “X-Mas Trim-A-Tree Superstore.”

The store’s manager referred the Astoria Post to the owner for questions, who could not be reached as of press time.

According to signage, the toy department expansion will open on Thursday, and the trim-a-tree component will open October 1.
