A popular Korean-based bakery chain plans to open a new location on 30th Avenue in the coming months.

Paris Baguette, a chain that serves cakes, pastries, sandwiches and coffee, will be opening at 31-08 30th Ave. in September. The bakery has more than 4,000 retail stores worldwide, including nearly 100 in the U.S.

The new bakery will be the chain’s second in Astoria, and its 12th in Queens. Its other Astoria location is at 22-20 31st St.

Meghna Negandhi, a Queens resident, is the franchisee and is moving into the space that was previous occupied by a Carvel ice cream shop and a Subway sandwich store.

The store is a 2,000 square foot space that will seat 25 people indoors at full capacity. There is also space for three tables outside that will seat six.

“We love Astoria and are really excited to bring baked goods to the neighborhood,” said Negandhi, who said that the bakery will be family-run.

“We have seen the area change for the good and think the bakery will be a great addition.”

Opening hours will be Mondays through Sundays from 5 a.m. to midnight.

It will be Negandhi’s second location under the franchise. She also operates a Paris Baguette on 88th Street in Jackson Heights.

The company also has bakeries in Sunnyside, Flushing, Bayside, Auburndale, Rego Park, Forest Hills and Little Neck. There are eleven in Manhattan and one in Brooklyn.

The chain operates in a number of states, such as New Jersey, Massachusetts, Nevada, Georgia and California.

Mark Mele, a spokesperson for Paris Baguette, said that the franchise aims to open more bakeries in Queens in the near future and is looking to have 1,000 stores operating in the U.S. by 2030.
