Watch: Man Walks Into Astoria Church Swipes $800 From Collection Box

The police are looking for a man who entered into a church in Astoria last week and allegedly swiped $800 from a collection box.

The suspect walked into George Coptic Orthodox Church, located at 38-25 31 St., at around 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 28 and removed cash from a collection box before fleeing.

The NYPD released a photo and video of the suspect.

Anyone with information in regard to this theft is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
