March 31, 2021 By Allie Griffin

The police are looking for two teenagers who beat and pepper-sprayed a 26-year-old man while making a sale on a street corner in Astoria Sunday.

The two teenage boys and the 26-year-old had met up at around 5:40 p.m. on the corner of 29th Street and Newtown Avenue to exchange electronics. The three got into an argument, which quickly turned physical, police said.

The teens punched, kicked and pepper-sprayed the man and grabbed his Sony Playstation 5. They ran off with the Playstation, heading southwest on 29th Street, police said.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital – Queens and was treated for minor injuries.

Police have released descriptions of the two suspects. The first suspect is described as dark-skinned, between 15 and 18 years old, and about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red sweatshirt, green pants and black sneakers.

The second suspect is light-skinned, between 15 and 18 years old, and about the same height and weight as the other teenager. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants and black sneakers.

So sad that the media is afraid to include the race of criminals. At least now they are including “dark skinned, light skinned”.

I guess he is not going to be able to wear his $160 “Straight Out of the Motherland” red hoodie anymore but it comes with matching sweatpants. I think I remember them when they were younger and they frequently walked on Newtown from the Astoria Houses to the Park for the Recently Un-incarcerated (Athens Sq Pk). People know who they are.
