He stole the worlds smallest flat screen
I feel as if he knew this person and that he would be able to retrieve this item with no issue

First of all, how did he find out that a neighbor had a flat screen TV in their home? Second, why didn’t she, the owner of the flat screen TV, properly lock the door so it wouldn’t be broken in?
Third, that guy looked like he was desperate- no sense of organizing skills whatsoever. Plus, why that area without people on alert mode? When’s the next time we’ll see this type of robbery- next to a supermarket area?

I have been living in Astoria for three years. It is time to invest in an alarm or, if you already have one, get it serviced to check it works. Sleep with the alarm on you are at your most vulnerable in the night.

You never know maybe he smoked something that made him go insane. This crime makes no sense and I have seen plenty of people who look like they are hallucinating in Astoria lately.

He’s been in that apt to know he could just kick it in…Who in Astoria is stupid nowadays to have only ONE lock on their entrance door?? Even at 5 p.m. maybe people work and come home much later?

So in your opinion he has borrowed like a cup of sugar from here before and this time helped himself to a flat-screen?

You’re better off with an Alarm System with an alert to the police or security worker in addition to Surveillance Video.

As one of many racists in Astoria I’m saddened that this story doesn’t fit my preconceived narrative.

I hope you learned a lesson. Bad people come in all colors, shapes and sizes. On the other hand, if Micheal Jackson was seen stealing on surveillance video how do you think he would of been described by authorities?

I believe he had to know no one was home. I doubt he just picked a random door in a building and kicked it in. What a loser hope he gets caught.

You mean a person that stalks their prey? If he was known to the victim or someone recognized him in the building I am sure they would of told the police.

You do not someones frame of mind with some of the drugs people smoke nowadays. It may have been a random break in.

It is scary the amount of crime and attacks we have been reading about and hearing from neighbors taking place in our neighborhood. Thank goodness no one was home.

The coward wouldn’t have tried that if someone was home. Who let him in the front door to the lobby?

You’re asking who let him in the front door when we have video of him breaking down an apartment door?

That is what constant reporting and social media ddoes….scares people.Crimes happen, have been happening everywhere all the time.

I am surprised no one heard him at 5pm. Or we turned into a “I didn’t hear or see anything” type of neighborhood if it does not involve you personally.
