This Sunday’s much anticipated Super Bowl tail gate party at Studio Square has been called off.
The event, which was heavily promoted as part of Super Bowl week, was supposed to feature an open bar along with food from Food Network’s chef Robert Irvine and meat purveyor Pat LaFrieda.
The hope was to raise $40,000 for charity, with $20,000 going to the Armed Forces Foundation and the other $20,000 going to the Gary Sinise Foundation, which supports veterans and first responders.
However, the $125 event never gained any real momentum.
“Due to logistical issues inherent in hosting a primarily outdoor event in cold-weather as well as conflicts with other ongoing Super Bowl activities in the NYC metro area, we have decided to postpone this event until the summer,” said Pete Mason, the Chief Marketing Officer, S Hospitality Group.
The event is now in the works for late summer as an NFL season kick-off party. Irvine and LaFrieda are still expected to help host the event.
