Starbucks to Open its Fifth Astoria Location

30-18 Astoria Blvd

April 30, 2014 By Michael Florio

Astoria is about to get its fifth Starbucks.

The Seattle-based coffee chain is about to open a store at 30-18 Astoria Boulevard, according to a representative from the company.

The company doesn’t have a firm opening date. However, nearby store owners believe it is this summer.

Victor Kassimov, owner of Domenick’s Wines & Spirits, located two doors down from the proposed Starbucks location, said he believes the new Starbucks store will help his business. “It should lead to more cliental,” he said.

Kassimov said Starbucks is moving into a good section of Astoria, one he moved into in December.

The coffee giant already has stores covering two of the six N/Q subway stops that go through or near the neighborhood—namely Ditmars (22-04 31st Street) and Broadway (31-01 Broadway). The new location would be near the Astoria Blvd stop.

Starbucks also has a Steinway Street location (31-44 Steinway) as well as a store near the Kaufman Astoria Studios at 37-11 35th Avenue.
