Another apartment building is going to go up on Broadway.
A new seven-story building with 19 units will be rising at 25-28 Broadway, according to plans filed with the city yesterday.
The new building will be 74 feet tall and have 19 apartments on the top five floors, with a retail space on the ground floor and recreation space on the second floor, according to the plans.
The empty lot it will be built on covers half of the entire property, with the other half already containing a two story building with law offices.
The residential portion of the building will cover 13,371 square feet, meaning each apartment will average about 700 square feet. There will also be 2,365 square feet of retail space.
The building will also have a parking garage built in, with 10 parking spaces between the first and second floors.
According to the plans, there will be laundry facilities in the basement of the building and four apartments each on the third through sixth floors, with just three on the top floor.

I sincerely hope some of these apartments will include affordable housing. At this point I think ALL apartment buildings being built should be required to provide some units which aren’t horribly over-priced. I also think it is about time the standard for affordable housing matching up to the actual area mean of income. It is unfair and unreasonable for the affordable housing standard to be judged by the average income in Manhattan.
