A virtual job fair hosted by the Queens Borough President is set to be held Wednesday.

The event, which will be the twelfth and final fair in a series, will include 16 employers and recruiters who will try to match Queens job seekers with a wide array of employment opportunities.

The fair, which will be held via Zoom, will take place between 2 p.m.-3:30 p.m. and the 16 employers represent a range of industries—from financial services, transportation, retail to security.

“Families across Queens continue to feel the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Borough President Donovan Richards in a statement. “The economic recovery and rebuild of our borough hinges on connecting borough residents with employers looking to hire immediately for a vast array of available positions in key sectors. “

The fairs, which have been taking place every three weeks since April 22, aim to reduce the unemployment rate in Queens that sat at about 13.1 percent in October, down from a high of 21.6 percent in June but up more than 10 percentage points from February’s 3 percent unemployment rate.

According to the New York State Department of Labor, more than 2.11 million New York City residents have filed unemployment claims between March 8 and Nov. 21.

Interested participants must register in advances at the following link. The fair will also be livestreamed on the Borough Presidents website for those interested in viewing it.

Participants and viewers will hear brief presentations from employers.

The employers participating in Wednesday’s event include:  CAMBA, Inc., The Child Center of New York, the Chinese-American Planning Council, Commonpoint Queens, Council for Airport Opportunity, Empire Vets, FDNY, Forest Hills Financial Group, the New York City Children’s Center, the New York City Transit Authority, New York Life, R.A.I.N. Total Care, Inc., U.S. Census Bureau, WATCH GUARD 24/7, WestHab and Workforce1.
