A sex worker who fatally drugged multiple men in hotel rooms across western Queens was sentenced Tuesday to 30 years in prison.

Angelina Barini, a 43-year-old Queens resident, was sentenced in Brooklyn federal court on charges of distributing narcotics that caused death, along with a slew of other drug-related charges. She was found responsible for the death of four men.

According to court documents, Barini provided narcotics containing fentanyl to her victims between July 2019 and August 2019 while conducting business as a prostitute. The drugs were given to her johns as part of a scheme to incapacitate and rob them.

“The defendant drugged and killed multiple people for a few quick dollars. She stole their personal belongings while they lay unconscious dying from the lethal drugs she gave them,” said United States Attorney Breon Peace in a statement. “The defendant’s substantial prison sentence is warranted by her shocking disregard for human life.”

The first incident took place on July 4, 2019, where she met a john at a motel in Astoria and gave him fentanyl-laced drugs. The victim was found dead later in the day.

On July 11, 2019, Barini met with a man at the Crown Motor Inn, located at 74-01 Queens Blvd., and gave him fentanyl-laced drugs, causing his overdose death. Video surveillance showed Barini enter the motel with the man.

On Aug. 5, 2019, she met a man at a house in College Point and gave the victim fentanyl-laced drugs that caused his death.

Barini was also responsible for the death of Andrea Zamperoni, a Cipriani Dolci chef, who was found dead of a drug overdose at the Kamway Lodge, located in Elmhurst, on Aug. 21, 2019.

According to court records, she killed Zamperoni by drugging him with GBL, which is known as a date rape drug, at the hotel. She then tried to dispose of his body by wrapping it in sheets and stuffing his body into a garbage bin.

“The plague of addiction continues to devastate families and communities in New York and around the country,” said Homeland Security Acting Special Agent-in-Charge Ricky Patel in a statement.

“This case is a painful reminder that there are people like Barini who prey on addicts, turning deadly fentanyl cocktails into quick profits.”
