The police are looking for a man wanted in connection to a string of break-ins that have taken place in Astoria over the past month.
The first incident occurred at around 5:40 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 16 when the suspect attempted to break into an apartment in the vicinity of Ditmars Boulevard and Crescent Street while a 36-year-old woman was sleeping.
The man tried to climb through the woman’s bedroom window but she woke up and yelled when she saw him, according to police.
The suspect then fled on foot northbound on Crescent Street.
Just days later, between Oct. 19 and Oct. 21, the man allegedly broke into an unoccupied apartment in the vicinity of Ditmars Boulevard and 35th Street. He gained entry through an unsecured window and took a watch and an Apple iPad Mini tablet.
The suspect then broke into an apartment through a rear window between Nov. 2 and Nov. 3 in the vicinity of 41st Street and 23rd Avenue. Once inside he removed two watches and approximately $6,000 in cash, police said.
A fourth incident allegedly took place during the day on Nov. 3 when the suspect broke into an apartment through a rear window in the vicinity of 38th Street and 21st Avenue. The suspect removed a bracelet, four rings and approximately $2,000 in cash.
The suspect is described as a light-skinned man with glasses, last seen wearing a baseball cap, a hooded sweater and dark colored pants.
