Police Looking for Man Screening Porn on R Train in Astoria: NYPD

NYPD

March 18, 2020 By Christian Murray

Police are looking for a man who was watching porn on the subway and was trying to make sure a 16-year-old girl sitting next to him got a good viewing, police said.

The suspect was riding a Manhattan bound R train at around 11:20 a.m. Monday and was watching porn on his cell phone, according to police. He then turned his phone’s screen in the victim’s direction to make sure she viewed it.

The victim confronted the alleged pervert. He  then apologized, police said, before exiting the train at the 36th Street station.

The suspect is described as white, between 25 and 35 years of age and approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black coat with a fur-lined hood, blue jeans and dark colored shoes.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

This is nonsense. “He then turned his phone’s screen in the victim’s direction to make sure she viewed it.”
Focus on real crime and stop wasting time with this BS he said she said stuff.

Was it too much for this woman to turn her sight from the screen? Did he hold her head in place? She was forced to look at porn on somebody else’s phone. Forced ??

@Name- Most think he’s the victim. Like I feel victimized by having to have read your post., I’ll bet you this guy will be hauled in or surrenders himself, pays for an attorney and this woman will be nowhere to be found when it’s time for a court appearance. So violated.

First of all I am not against porn or any adult entertainment but people should do it privately. There are too many selfish, me first people in this country like loud music, blocking staircases, talking loud in public.

I live in the Ditmars area and he looks very familiar. Woman be careful. I saw woman walking alone on practically empty streets this morning and some men at corners mostly alone who appeared high or drunk (bloodshot / glassy eyes, etc). One began cat calling a female and she ignored him and walked faster. If you see someone walking at a normal to fast pace most likely they are going somewhere. I just felt unconformable with the men just standing on street corners watching woman go by.

Mac- For once I gotta agree with you. What type of wimps are moving into Astoria, they perceive somebody looking at their own electronic device within their own personal space, as a threat. My bet is this so called “victim” was looking over his shoulder and he flipped the phone to let her know he knew she sticking her nose where it didn’t belong. I’ve caught people looking over my shoulder and onto my phone on subways reading articles I was reading, funny it was always women. How does this victim know this guy looking at his own phone within his own personal space, didn’t just open something that wasn’t what he thought it was.Ive received so called jokes spam and unsolicited garbage on my devices. Maybe this poor victim should learn to respect other people’s personal space and she won’t be so easily offended. She should be charged with wasting tax payer money and the time of the police officers involved with taking her complaint. What else is the woman calling the police for?

I agree, everyone should watch porn on the subway

What do you care what somebody is doing on their phone? It’s none of your business. If sound is not blasting I have no idea of what the person next to me is doing on their phone and I don’t care. Get a life.
