PODCAST: We Speak to Ben Guttmann, Candidate for the 26th District Council Seat

Oct. 14, 2020 By Christian Murray

Many candidates will be running in next June’s Democratic primary for the 26th District Council seat currently held by Jimmy Van Bramer.

Today, we speak to Ben Guttmann who is one of those candidates vying for the seat that covers Sunnyside, Woodside, Long Island City and a portion of Astoria.

The city council will be under significant change in 2022 due to term limits.

Eleven council members in Queens–including Van Bramer–will be forced to step down at the end of next year due to term limits.

Many candidates have already come forward looking to replace them, and will be competing for those spots.

In Queens, only four council members — Barry Grodenchik, Adrienne Adams, Robert Holden and Francisco Moya — are eligible for another term. They too will be facing challengers.

We plan to speak to as many candidates running for office in Queens as possible from now through to the primaries. For a list of candidates, click here.

All the issues Ben Guttman cites surfaced under the rise of the “progressives” aka Socialists. Let’s have a look:
Governor Cuomo, Mayor DiBlasio, AOC, Letitia James, Jimmy Van Bramer, Costa, Gianaris, and other “progressives” presided over the dismantling of NYC and Astoria.

Now along comes Guttman, another “progressive” aka Democratic Socialist who expects us to believe that he’ll be any different than the bunch of aforemetioned detrimental losers who have reduced NYC to filth, waste, high crime, no jobs, bankruptcy, crumbling NYCHA and an exodus from the city?????? How can he be when he follows the same socialist policies?

NYC was headed down the toilet before Covid, which only exacerbated the already terrible state of NY. People – wake up!!!!! These progressives ARE the problem.

Chicago, another state run by progressives is the rat capital of the US, full of filth, waste, corruption, murder and high crime.

Isn’t it high time we stopped electing these “progressives” aka Socialists to office? This is insanity!

City Council passes bill shifting broker fee burden to landlords, sparking backlash from real estate industry and key critics

Nov. 14, 2024 By Ethan Stark-Miller and QNS News Team

The New York City Council passed a landmark bill on Wednesday, aiming to relieve renters of paying hefty broker fees — a cost that will now fall on the party who hires the listing agent. Known as the FARE Act (Fairness in Apartment Rentals), the legislation passed with a veto-proof majority of 42-8, despite opposition from Republicans and conservative Democrats.
