A popular Korean fried chicken restaurant is opening its fourth location in Astoria later this month by the Astoria-Ditmars Blvd. subway station.
The Astoria establishment, which will be located at 22-58 31st Street, the home of the former Golden Fruit Market, will mark the fourth Pelicana Chicken to open in the United States, with Julie Kim as the exclusive master franchiser in the country.
Kim has opened restaurants in Sunnyside, Flushing and Palisades Park, NJ, within the last three years. The Sunnysidepost reported earlier this year that Pelicana Chicken was opening in Astoria.
Kim said that she is opening the Astoria venue since her two other Queens restaurants get many calls from local residents seeking take-out.
She noted that the menu will be the same in Astoria as its other locations with a few new additions and some taken out, as certain Korean dishes won’t be a right fit for the neighborhood.
Pelicana is headquartered in South Korea where there are more than 2,000 stores.
The restaurant is best known for offering more than 50 possible combinations of flavored chicken. It is also known for its crispy, boneless chicken.
The restaurant has also added all-natural fruit sorbets for dessert.
It will offer free delivery in Astoria and can be made online at www.pelicanachickenusa.com.
Hours of operation are:
Sunday to Thursday – 11:30 a.m. to midnight
Friday and Saturday – 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.

When was the last time you’ve had a K-themed food area around here, to begin with? In Flushing, right? So why travel that far when you can have it in Astoria?
Also, they have great reviews in GrubHub for those who plan to purchase food online anyway. Give them a chance and let them prove their worth. That old grocery stand wasn’t expected to stand any longer..
I love Korean Barbecue ….very tasty. I hope this is not just another fried food joint with greasy “heart attack ” cooking.
Ethnic Mediterranean food is not only delicious but healthy ……..Middle Eastern food is also tasty and good for you. I love the variety of restaurants that we have in Astoria but some of them , especially some of the take out joints who have inexpensive menus but have unhealthy, salty, greasy cooking………….something for everyone !!!
Yeah sure Lee, or jia, or sue, or km or whatever name your using, your the same person. You probably are the owner
Their chicken is everyone’s favorite! I can’t wait for it to open on Ditmars. I have been to their nearby locations with family and friends and it was so good.
That’s ok ,labella pizza is next door. Good food. Yelp is full of morons who think they know food. Its far from accurate.
Pelicans isn’t good at all. Expensive too. The one in sunnyside is not a good place. Impossible to park too. Bad location, bad food ,= see ya!!!
I think it is delicious and not expensive, There is a McDonald’s near by with a dollar menu if you like. Sometimes they have coupons in newspaper too. You can also try the meat on a stick with a piece of bread on the street that food stands sell under the passing train. I think its like 3 dollars.
Really? Dollar menu Too! Can’t wait. Beats pelican
Which place has good meat on the stick? Under what train I love those things, better than pelican chicken
But who cares what u think
I HEARD THEIR CAT AND DOG ITEMS ARE TO DIE 4 !!!!!!!!
Looks so tasty. People from all over love Pelicana Chicken. Ditmars area is very lucky. I found this too:

Meow
Where do they get their chicken?
Lee – you must be the owner. Calm down
Really yelp. If the proprietor had the audacity to charge for services rendered the customer bashes him. Yelp is a joke.
It also has a rating of 4.6 out of 5 on google. Thank you.
This place in Sunnyside sucks
Pelicana Chicken in Sunnyside has 4 out of 5 stars on yelp with many good reviews. Many people including locals enjoy it. Other Pelicana Chicken locations are also highly rated by customers.
Yelp. There’s your answer right there. Yelp ,what a joke.
More amateur good critics.
Sad. Another yet another hipster eatery replacing a business offering affordable items.
This isn’t KFC or Popeye’s. You can buy that on Steinway if you like. This is good Korean food. People love it.
How is this hipster?
I didnt know Korean food was hipster food lol gimmie a break
Sounds good! Best of luck.
