Bowne House Flushing

Oct. 16, 2019. By Shane O’Brien

Dozens of historic and state-of-the-art buildings across Queens will open their doors to the public this weekend as part of Open House New York (OHNY), an event which shows off the best architecture the city has to offer.

The event is returning for its 17th year and over 300 buildings across the city will be open for tours, talks and performances this weekend from Friday, Oct. 18 until Sunday, Oct. 20.

OHNY is an annual event that opens hundreds of New York buildings to the general public. Members of the public can explore notable buildings in the Big Apple and meet with the people who design, build or preserve them.

The weekend is ideal for architects, city lovers, civic leaders, historians, preservationists, and urban planners.

In Queens, there will be 32 different buildings open to the public. Some venues require reservations while others accept walk ins. For a complete guide of all Queens locations, click here.
