A new shop for glasses and eye care will open in Astoria in the coming months.
Visionworks is set to open at 30-76 Steinway St. by the end of 2015, according to a company spokeswoman.
The shop will offer full service optical care with Doctors of optometry, opticians and sales associates. Visionworks stores also carry about 2,000 different frames for men, women and children.
Visionworks is opening this shop as part of the company’s movement to provide more shops throughout the five boroughs.
Visionworks has had a large store presence in Long Island and upstate New York, but only a handful of shops in Queens and none in the other boroughs, according to the spokeswoman. She added that Visionworks aims to open new stores in areas served by its sister company, Davis Vision.
“We look to open stores where the members live and there are lots of members in the boroughs,” she said.
The company hopes to open five more stores in Queens, including this one, as well as two stores in the Bronx, four in Brooklyn and two in Westchester.
Visionworks opened a shop on 82nd Street in Jackson Heights today. That shop is offering a buy one, get one free deal this month.
