Man Wanted for Fatal Stabbing on Northern Boulevard Friday

The police have released video surveillance of a man wanted for a fatal stabbing in Jackson Heights Friday.

The footage is of a suspect who allegedly killed a 21-year-old man by stabbing him multiple times in the chest on Northern Boulevard Friday evening.

Police responded to a call at around 7:30 p.m. on June 12 that a man had been assaulted in front of 82-15 Northern Blvd. Upon arrival they found the victim with multiple wounds to the chest. He was taken to NYC Health & Hospitals/Elmhurst where he was pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as Nicolas Caicedo-Velasquez from East Elmhurst.

The suspect is described as being of light complexion, slim build and with a beard. He was last seen wearing an orange/red polo shirt, black baseball cap, blue jeans, black sneakers and a black crossbody bag.

More than 8,000 people and an unknown number of puppies took part in LIC Springs!, the signature street festival organized each year by the Long Island City Partnership to showcase the booming neighborhood’s vibrancy and diversity.
