March 12, 2020 By Michael Dorgan

Police are searching for a gang of five men wanted in connection to a violent slashing that took place at the corner of 28th Avenue and Steinway Street last month.

The attack occurred on Saturday, Feb. 29, at around 2 a.m. when the five unidentified suspects set upon the 27-year-old victim, police said. The incident was unprovoked.

The attackers stabbed and slashed the man multiple times to his ear, shoulder and body before fleeing the scene on foot, according to police.

The victim was taken to Cornell Hospital in a stable condition.

Police described the suspects as being approximately 20 to 30 years of age.

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of the suspects is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

Republican run states have higher rates of crime then Democratic states according to FBI statistics: The highest crime states in America are Tennessee, Alabama, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Mississippi, Missouri, Alaska, New Mexico, Arkansas and Florida. Go look it up.,

Ohh yeah.. I can only imagine how worse the crime rate gets once those states are under dems.. (Your point does not explain causality.. The neighborhoods with higher crime rates have more police/precinct. Having more police/precinct does not cause more crime I guess!)

Ummmmm …. we have a Republican in Office and he hasn’t done squat. He inherited a booming economy from a Democratic President who stated the minute he came into office that it would take 10 yrs for the economy to come back and he was President for 8 of those 10 years, not withstanding the fact that Obama had to clean up Bush Jr’s mess, who happened to be another Republican who did nothing. Remember when gas was $6 a gallon under Bush Jr? Republicans could care less about the poor and Middle class, so you must have enough money to make such a stupid claim. Instead of worrying about someone’s political stance, how about you just be a human being and show what most Republicans DONT have……it’s called COMPASSION.

This guy may have been on his way home from work. When the gangs know that the good hardworking people of New York can’t have guns because the democrats that run this City have done away with 2nd amendment rights, we are all at risk.

Stop blaming Democrats and whining about guns. This isn’t the wild west where “open carry” laws are legal. What…. you want more guns on the street so these gangsters and savages can kill MORE people? You want a gun?? Apply for a license like I did, a d u can own one. What are you gonna do with a gun anyway, kill the person who assaulted you, then piss and moan while u sit in jail and cry about your civil rights being taken away? If there is no “Stand your ground” law in NY, carrying a gun on you is pointless. Democrats this….Democrats that…..Waaaa waaaa waaaaa. Meanwhile you have an incompetent REPUBLICAN President in Office who says he ALONE can fix it all, yet can even get the water in Flint Michigan up to drinkable status, so shut up……

One thumb down & there will be many more cos of the bs cry wolf ? racist this or that, prejudice toward this kind of people. It was a miracle there was like no articles about assaults, robbery or any crime last week or so. It is sad that Astoria turned into this awful situation or neighborhood. But there will be someone will bitch & moan about how sad it is prejudices toward certain group of people moving in. We can’t build the wall or to send them back to where they came from. The Yemeni Uber driver in Sunnyside was in serious condition by the thugs were not immigrants except 1 white girl looked Eastern European. That Yemeni wasn’t a bottom feeder of society like the thugs assaulted him. The people thumb down are bs denialist, can’t accept the fact.

Look at the people who are assaulting and harassing Asian minority over not wearing a mask, telling them go back to China and so on. As an immigrant I know who are the real racists…

Why the anonymous thumbs down? Not a lie…there have been a number of issues around this intersection. WHY is another question…and I’d love to see the reasoning given from the “long time/life long residents” of the neighborhood
