The police are looking for a man who smashed a display case in an Astoria jewelry store last week and took off with approximately $20,000 worth of merchandise.
The suspect entered K.A. Jewelry, located at 30-04 Broadway, at around 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2 and walked up to the display window and smashed it. The man then took two trays of jewelry that contained about 50 items.
The man then fled on foot, eastbound on Broadway. No injuries were reported and no weapons were used.
Police released photos and video of the suspect taken from the crime scene.
The suspect is described as being Hispanic and between 20 and 30 years of age.
