Man Scrawls ‘Anarchy Symbol’ on More Than 70 Vehicles in Astoria, Police Release Footage of Suspect

The police are looking for a man who has vandalized more than 70 vehicles in Astoria over the past two months by tagging them with the anarchy symbol.

The most recent incident took place Saturday when the suspect allegedly vandalized eight vehicles that were parked on 32nd Street, between 34th Avenue and Broadway. The vandal spray painted the cars during the hours of 7:35 a.m. and 10 a.m., according to police.

The man allegedly spray painted 17 vehicles on Wednesday, May 19 on 33rd Street, between 23rd Avenue and Ditmars Boulevard. He scrawled the anarchy symbol on each vehicle, police said.

The suspect also spray painted 20 vehicles on May 18, between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. He vandalized the cars while they were parked on 27th Street, between 23rd Avenue and Ditmars Boulevard, according to the NYPD. Police have released video footage of the suspect that was taken during this incident.

The suspect also vandalized cars two month ago, according to police, tagging 20 vehicles parked on 35th Street between 31st Avenue and Broadway.
