HinoMaru Ramen To Open New Spot On 30th Ave

Hinu

Oct. 26, 2015 By Jackie Strawbridge

The popular Ditmars Boulevard ramen spot HinoMaru Ramen will soon get a new location on 30th Avenue.

The new restaurant, located at 42-06 30th Ave., will be called HinoMaru Ko. The word “ko’” in Japanese translates to “child.”

“As such the 30th Avenue location will be smaller, yet oversize in character and charm,” the restaurant team said in an email.

Like the Ditmars Boulevard location, HinoMaru Ko will specialize in Japanese ramen in a casual setting, except the menu will be smaller.

The 30th Avenue location will offer a variety of tonkotsu ramen dishes, which are made with a heavy, pork bone-based broth, as well as chicken-based ramen dishes and a selection of tapas.

“We have [had] numerous requests by existing HinoMaru fans to open up another location in the 30th Avenue area,” the team said. “Once the opportunity presented itself, we jumped at it!”

HinoMaru Ko will seat 16 customers, and unlike the Ditmars Boulevard restaurant, delivery will be available – the service area is still being determined.

Until owners secure a liquor license, the restaurant will be BYOB.

HinoMaru Ko is slated to open in about two weeks.
