Halloween Harvest Festival to take place at Socrates Sculpture Park tomorrow

The 10th annual Halloween Harvest Festival takes place at Socrates Sculpture Park tomorrow.

The festival, which runs from 11 am through 3 pm, will feature a dog costume contest, face painting and dancing in the park.

The festival will begin with a costume-making workshop, where artists will be on hand to help attendees make costumes. These workshops will be available between 11 am and 2 pm, and supplies will be provided.

There will be a shadow puppet show at 11:30 am and 2:30 pm. Meanwhile, face painters will be available from 12 to 3 pm.

The Dance Theater of Nepal will be putting on a traditional Gai Jatra harvest performance at 12 pm.

There will be a costume contests for dogs, beginning at 1 pm. Participants must register before 12:30 pm.

Following the doggie costume party there will be a pet blessing by Urban Shaman Mama Donna.

The park began hosting this festival in 2005, as a way to bring the community together.

The park hosts several family events each year, such as its kite flight day, LIC bike parade and Summer Solstice Celebration.

Attendees can purchase food from Sweet Jane, Current Mood Pop, XXX Coffee, and Indian cuisine from 5 Star Diner, throughout the day.
