Four Story, 26 Unit Development Planned for Steinway Street

Plans have been filed for a four-story, 26-unit development on Steinway Street.

The plans, filed Aug. 5, call for the new building to go at 20-18 Steinway St., a lot that has historically been occupied by an auto repair shop. Demolition plans for the site were filed in June 2019

The development, slated to be 45 feet tall and have a floor area of 19,374 square feet, would consist of six apartments on the first floor, eight units on both the second and third floors, and four on the fourth floor.

The plans include 18 parking spaces for motor vehicles and 13 bicycle parking spaces.

The property was purchased for $2.18 million by Fuhao Yang in May 2019.  Yang is developing the site under the corporate name of 2008 Steinway LLC,

More development just what a crowded out of control Astoria needs … time for a moratorium on building for awhile .,,
