The police are investigating a shooting that took place in Astoria last night that left four dead- including a 5-year-old boy—in what’s being considered a murder-suicide.

The incident took place at 23-07 30th Drive on the ground floor of a four story, eight-unit apartment building shortly before 9 p.m.

The police arrived on the scene after receiving a report that there was a man with a gunshot wound and his throat slashed in the backyard, the NYTimes reported.

When the police arrived, they found the man dead. Furthermore, they found three other people fatally shot—two women and a 5-year-old– in the building.

The police have yet to release their identities.
