A first responder was fatally stabbed in the Ditmars section of Astoria Thursday afternoon — and police have apprehended her alleged attacker after he barricaded himself inside a nearby building.

The victim, 61, an on-duty Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) worker, was stabbed in the neck by a man at the 20th Avenue and 41st Street intersection at around 2:40 p.m., according to police.

Police say the alleged perpetrator fled into a nearby building, located at 40-19 20th Ave.

There are unconfirmed reports that the man was with another woman inside the building which is located on the northwestern corner of the intersection. It was previously occupied by Notes nightclub.

The suspect was later taken into custody.

The EMT worker was transported to Mount Sinai Queens in critical condition, police said. The New York Post and New York Daily News reported that she later died at the hospital.

Video footage posted to the Citizen app showed a heavy police presence at the scene and the front of the building has been cordoned off with police tape.

At least one NYPD helicopter could be seen flying overhead, the footage shows.

It is unclear what led up to the alleged stabbing. The NYPD was unable to provide any further details regarding the incident.

Terrible tragedy. Time for us to wake up and elect moderate Democrats, not the so-called Democratic Socialists. AOC does not serve the best interests of Astoria.

“MODERATE”??? Like the Mayor who PROMISED to STOP CRIME but PARTYS in different states and countries instead of KEEPING -HIS- PROMISES that got him elected??? * IF * moderate dems kept 1/10 of their *PROMISES* NY as a whole would look less like a wild west show on CRACK! DEMS leagalizing POT for PROFITS $$$$. NY Post gave the pic of the loon who did the murder, I saw HIM at the local Weed Truck at 30 Ave. in front of Rite Aid! If he has psychologic past why are the DEMs allowing medically nuts to enhance their psychosis with weed? Go on any medical archive page or google weed and psychosis they don’t mix. But the “medical” sponsered ads for profit sponsered by Dems downplay that!
You need to face REALITY!
Your party died when socialist took the reins! Even you old school “moderate” Dems have turned into Dino just like the Rhinos!

Many who voted “B” in said they only voted for not Trump! If you don’t like someone personally DON’T follow them. Stop making excuses! While he may have had alot of shortcomings HE never started a war, we were energy independent and had a working economy.

Also GUILLIAN when He was mayor HE stood in NY…Cleaned up TIMES SQUARE, traded the guns off the streets for cash, cleaned up crime in general and stopped the sex trade that was creating the mob relations! He was there at 9/11, Adams was in Puerto Rico when a woman security guard was beat down for going to her job.
Dems have failed us!

Go Red before We’re All Dead!

Red Storm stars reflect on historic season with fans dreaming of deep run during March Madness

In just his second year at the helm of the St. John’s Red Storm, basketball Hall of Famer Rick Pitino was named Big East Coach of the Year on Wednesday after leading his squad to its first outright regular season conference championship in 40 years and matched a program record 27 regular season victories. The Johnnies lost just four games all season by seven points combined. St. John’s also went an undefeated 18-0 at home for the first time since 1931-32. It earned them their highest national ranking (No. 6) since the 1990-91 season.

Pitino is the first St. John’s coach to be named the Big East’s Coach of the Year since Lou Carnesecca, who died on Saturday, Nov. 30, at age 99 and just five weeks shy of his 100th birthday.
