Fire breaks out on roof at Kaufman Astoria Studios, FDNY reports no injuries

A fire broke out on the roof of Kaufman Astoria Studios this morning but was quickly extinguished by the FDNY.

The fire department received a call at 6:37 am that the roof of the studio at 34-12 36 Street was ablaze. When they arrived, the fire was visible from the street, according to a spokesman for the FDNY.

A group of 60 firefighters got the blaze under control by 7:24 a.m. and there were no injuries reported.

The extent of the damage to the studio is unknown and the cause is still under investigation by the FDNY.
