A shirtless drive-by shooter fired a shot at a man outside the Sunnyside Library Saturday and the bullet missed before going through a library window, according to police.

The suspect was driving a gray-colored Toyota Camry on 43rd Street and Greenpoint Avenue at around 1:30 p.m. when he fired a shot at a 49-year-old man who was walking on the sidewalk, according to police.

The bullet missed and went through a window at the 43-06 Greenpoint Ave. library

The bullet smashed through the “teen room” window, according to a spokesperson for the Queens Public Library. The room was empty at the time and there were no injuries.

The library was open at the time of the shooting but closed for the day after the bullet shattered the window, the spokesperson added.

The suspect, described as Black and shirtless at the time of the shooting, fled the scene in his vehicle westbound on Greenpoint Avenue, police said.

The shooter had allegedly gotten into a dispute with the man minutes earlier outside an apartment building—one block away—at 44-08 47th Ave., police said. It is unclear what sparked the argument and whether the suspect was in his vehicle at the time of the verbal dispute.

The assailant then followed the man in his Toyota before shooting at him outside the library, police said. There were no reported injuries.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Police said the suspect’s vehicle had the license plate number of PNN9796.
