Astoria woman raped by her neighbor, cops say

A 22-year-old woman was raped in her own bed in Astoria this morning, according to police.

The woman woke up to a man pressing a knife against her back at about 5 am, the police said. The attacker then raped her, according to the police.

Police said the victim’s father woke up and tried to fight off the unclothed assailant before the alleged perpetrator jumped out the window.

The attacker was identified as a neighbor, according to police.

The police arrested Andres Santana, 30, who has been charged with rape, a criminal sex act, burglary, criminal mischief, and menacing.
