The Bel Aire Diner in Astoria is hosting its first ever live concert Saturday, in the style of its popular drive-in movie series.

The diner, located at 31-91 21st St., will feature live music from The Darwin Machine, a blues-rock cover and originals band based in Westchester County, during the drive-in concert from 6 p.m. to 7: 30 p.m.

Attendees will sit in their cars to enjoy the tunes in a retro, and COVID-19-safe atmosphere. Tickets cost $17 per car and can be purchased on the Bel Aire Diner website.

The diner began screening drive-in movies in May to offer Queens residents a socially-distant night out as movie theaters and many other forms of entertainment were closed due to the pandemic.

The movies quickly grabbed the attention of local news sites and New Yorkers and quickly sold out.

This month, the Bel Aire is hosting a variety of scary movies and haunted flicks for Halloween.

The diner which has been in business since 1965 has also been hosting paint and sip nights, comedy specials and a “Dears in the Headlights” drag show.

A full lineup of events can be found the Bel Aire Diner events calendar.
