Astoria businesses look to offer deals when N train through Astoria is down

With the N line being out of service in Astoria for several weekends this summer, a number of local business owners have come together for a special promotion for one of those weekends.

The promotion, titled ‘No Trains, Shop Local’, will take place the weekend of Aug. 11-13 and 12 stores will be offering 10 percent discounts to any customers that show their Metro card.

Participating retailers include The Astoria Bookshop, The Brass Owl, Broadway Silk, Château le Woof – Pet Market & Café, HiFi Records & Café, Inside Astoria, Lavender Label, Lockwood, Lockwood Style, LoveDay 31, Petals & Roots and The Stonework.

Some of the stores may be offering additional promotions.

Individuals who purchase an item for $25 or more and show their receipt at Q.E.D., which hosts comics and events, will receive a free ticket for themselves and a guest.
