March 17, 2016 Staff Report

28th Avenue is about to get a little more crowded with developers planning a seven-story residential project.

Construction plans were filed with the Department of Buildings Wednesday for the seven-story, 22-unit building at 36-08 28 Ave.

According to the DOB documents, there will be a lobby and recreation space on the first floor. Plans also show parking spaces provided for about a dozen cars.

City records show that the property was purchased in December.

The owner said he was unable to speak about the project at this time.

if only some of these developers would focus on the Ditmars area. Ditmars is in need of a major development before all these affordable housing complexes show up and trash the area even more. Rents and homes are so much higher in past Astoria Blvd.
