Two people were shot—one a teenager–near the Astoria Houses yesterday, the police said.

The police said that a 15-year-old boy and a 30-year-old male were shot in front of 27-10 8th Street on Thursday at about 4:30 pm, leaving both hospitalized.

Three officers were in the vicinity at the time of the shooting and heard shots. They then observed a man running away from the scene. The officers saw the suspect get into the passenger side of a 1999 Acura which was driven by another male.

The men left the scene in the car until it struck another vehicle at the intersection of 26 Avenue and 21 Street. Both occupants fled the vehicle on foot and the officers were able to stop the alleged shooter, a 34 year-old male, and place him under arrest.

A .45 caliber Ruger handgun was recovered from the suspect. .

The teenage victim was shot in the shoulder, while the 30-year-old was shot in his torso and leg. Both are in stable condition.

The police arrested Shannon Smith, from Valley Stream, who faces several charges such as Attempted Murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

East Elmhurst man busted for a fatal collision in Flushing Meadows Corona Park on the 4th of July: NYPD

A Queens grand jury indicted an East Elmhurst man in connection to a July 4th fatal collision at Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

Yersson Diaz, 27, of Ericsson Street just south of LaGuardia Airport, appeared at Queens Criminal Court for a summons on Tuesday and was taken into custody, according to an NYPD spokeswoman. He was booked Tuesday afternoon at the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst, where he was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
