A new post office opens in Astoria

30-11 21st St.

June 2, 2014 By Michael Florio

A new post office opened in Astoria on Saturday located at 30-11 21st Street.

The new post office opens 9 months after a nearby Astoria post office closed. That post office was located at 27-40 21st Street and had to close after the USPS lost its lease.

During the transition, residents had little choice but to go to other post office branches.

“This new Post Office branch in Astoria is much-needed in our growing community,” said Councilman Costa Constantinides.

“The 21 Street corridor is developing quickly, with new residential properties.  I am happy to know that the Post Office will provide a central location for all neighborhood residents to come together for any necessary mailing services.”

The new post office will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday.
