A local community group is planning a day full of activities and entertainment for Astoria kids on spring break tomorrow.

The Central Astoria Local Development Coalition will host the first-ever “Spring Break Fun in the Park” day tomorrow from 12 to 3 p.m. at Dutch Kills Playground at the corner of Crescent Street and 36th Avenue in an effort to offer educational fun to neighborhood kids.

“It’s our first time doing something like this, last year we just showed a movie but this year we opted to do children’s spring activities,” said organizer Roxy Tico, noting that the event was funded through Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer’s office and the NYC City Parks Equity Initiative.

The event will offer activities such as arts and crafts, painting, and a puppet show by LIC-based Chinese Theatre Works, which will depict the story of the Year of the Rooster. There will also be concessions including popcorn, snow cones, pretzels and cotton candy.
