A motorcyclist is dead after colliding with a car in Woodside Tuesday night.
The biker, a 38-year-old man, was riding his 2009 Honda motorcycle eastbound on 31st Avenue at around 11 p.m. when a driver in a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder traveling westbound made a left hand turn in front of him onto 61st Street.
The male biker struck the turning vehicle and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Responding officers found the 38-year-old unconscious and unresponsive with head trauma. EMS rushed the man to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The 48-year-old driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and was not injured. There have been no arrests and the investigation is going, police said.
The deceased’s identity is pending family notification.
Lots of motorcycle crashes lately. Common statement in the articles seem to be “head trauma”. Does this mean the riders weren’t wearing helmets?
