A 10-story mixed use building with 85 apartment units and an auto dealership on the ground floor has opened on the corner of Northern Boulevard and 36th Street in Dutch Kills.
The new building is home to the Silver Star Mercedes Benz dealership, which will take up the building’s first and second floors. The structure, dubbed The Silver Star, is located at 37-14 36th St., a block from the 36th Avenue (M/R) subway station and five blocks from the 39th Avenue (N/W) subway station.
The building features a 41,300-square foot Mercedes Benz showroom, which opened this summer. Above the dealership are “upscale rental apartments [that] are marketed mainly to young professionals,” according to a Silver Star press release.
The building consists of 30 studios, 27 one-bedroom units, 28 two-bedroom units, and two three-bedroom units.
The one, two and three-bedroom units all have in-unit laundry machines.
Residents have access to several amenities on the third floor, including a 500-square foot gym, a 1,600-square foot outdoor barbecue area with a Zen yoga space, and an outdoor trellis seating area. A lounge on the floor also offers a pantry, a communal table and a television.
Residents of the studios have access to a laundry room on the third floor.
The structure’s 10th floor also features a 1,300-square foot public space with a fireplace and seating area with views of Manhattan.
The building was designed by Montroy DeMarco Architecture LLP and built by 1 Oak Contracting.
