Oct. 22, 2018 By Tara Law

A 10-story mixed use building with 85 apartment units and an auto dealership on the ground floor has opened on the corner of Northern Boulevard and 36th Street in Dutch Kills.

The new building is home to the Silver Star Mercedes Benz dealership, which will take up the building’s first and second floors. The structure, dubbed The Silver Star, is located at 37-14 36th St., a block from the 36th Avenue (M/R) subway station and five blocks from the 39th Avenue (N/W) subway station.

The building features a 41,300-square foot Mercedes Benz showroom, which opened this summer. Above the dealership are “upscale rental apartments [that] are marketed mainly to young professionals,” according to a Silver Star press release.

The apartments feature floor-to-ceiling windows, hardwood floors, and modern, higher-end finishes.

Residents of the studios have access to a laundry room on the third floor.

The structure’s 10th floor also features a 1,300-square foot public space with a fireplace and seating area with views of Manhattan.

The building was designed by Montroy DeMarco Architecture LLP and built by 1 Oak Contracting.
