A popular coffee shop with more than a dozen locations around the city will soon open its first cafe in Astoria.

Coffeed, which was born in Long Island City, will open at 26-08 Hoyt Avenue South in the next two weeks, according to owner Frank Raffaele.

Raffaele wanted to open a shop in the neighborhood since he previously lived here and spends a lot of time in the community for business. The location also offers great foot traffic, since it is close to Astoria Park, which attracted Raffaele.

“There are a lot of people going to and from the park as well as the N and Q train,” he said. “It is a really fun, dynamic, awesome place. I love the park.”

The menu will focus heavily on coffee and espressos. It will have roughly 10 single origin coffees that are brewed at Coffeed’s flagship 37-18 Northern Blvd. location. Coffee will be served in different styles including espresso, drip, pour over and cold brew.

Since the Astoria location is small, Raffaele decided to focus on just coffee at first. The cafe will also serve pastries, and he hopes to incorporate light foods into the menu as well. He is unsure how many people the coffee shop will be able to seat.

The cafe will be open from early in the morning until late at night.

“Astoria is almost a 24/7 neighborhood,” Raffaele said. “We will have customers coming in early in the morning all the way until late at night.”

“We want to meet all the coffee needs of our customers,” he added. “We want this to be a nice hub for the community.”

He is excited to offer his product to the Astoria community.

“We are very proud of our coffee,” he said. “We put a lot of time, energy, thought and preparation into our beans and we are really looking forward to bringing that to Astoria.”

This will be the 15th Coffeed location. Other locations include LIC Landing at Hunters Point South Park, Randall’s Island, Bryant Park and Chelsea.
