Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is coming to 48th Street near Northern Boulevard.
The popular chain restaurant, which is known for its fried chicken, is ready to open at 32-78 48th St. However, it is waiting to schedule final inspections with the utility companies, according to Fiona Zhang, a representative for the contractor.
The restaurant will open once that process is complete, Zhang said.
Other Popeyes in Queens include one at 89-30 Queens Blvd. in Elmhurst, near the Queens Center Mall and another at 96-23 57th Ave. in Corona, according to the company’s website.
The 48th Street location was previously Color Master Flooring.
The owner could not be reached for comment. Popeyes did not respond to a request for comment.

They need more places like this in Astoria. Everything opening up is just too expensive especially when you have children and want a quick bite to eat.
This is great for the students, shoppers and drivers in the neighborhood.
