Astoria residents can get a behind-the-scenes look at film production next month.

More than 20 working movie trailers and trucks will be heading to Astoria next month for New York on Location, a day-long event that will allow the public the opportunity to go inside these vehicles and explore.

Residents can attend at the Kaufman Astoria Studios back lot (36 Street, between 34 and 35 Avenues), the Museum of the Moving Image (36-01 35 Ave.), and surrounding streets, on May 22 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Attendees will see stunt performers demonstrating street fighting, high-falls, and stunt driving. They will also see makeup and hair demos and weather effects such as snow and rain.

Food will also be available from movie catering trucks.

The event is free to attend. The Museum of the Moving Image will be offering free admission throughout the day as well.

Kaufman Studios and the Museum of the Moving Image will team up with the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 52 and Theatrical Teamsters Local 817 to put together this event.
