The police arrested a homeless man—and a sex offender–who allegedly tried to abduct a 12-year-old Astoria girl last week.
Houshang Hakimi, 69, allegedly tried to pull the victim into an SUV in the vicinity of 49th Street and Ditmars Avenue during the afternoon of March 5. The police said that when the girl refused to go into the vehicle and the child’s babysitter approached Hakimi fled.
Hakimi was arrested on Monday and charged with acting in a manner injuring a child less than 17 years old and failure to report a change of address as a sex offender.
