Thieves stole thousands of dollars from the bank accounts of two Astoria residents, in two separate incidents, according to the NYPD.
The first incident took place on October 14th when a man allegedly used two forged checks at two TD Bank branches in the Bronx, withdrawing a combined $1,437 from one resident’s account, according to police. The suspect went to the branches located at 640 East Fordham Road and 1864 Williamsbridge Road between 9 am and 12 pm.
The victim, a 46-year-old man who lives in Astoria, discovered the crime and reported it to the 114th Precinct.
The second incident took place on November 11th at 5 pm when a female suspect entered a Chase Bank located at 39-01 Main Street in Flushing. The suspect used the victim’s personal information and a withdrawal slip to withdraw $3,250 from the victim’s bank account, according to the NYPD.

The victim, a 75-year-old woman who lives in Astoria, discovered the crime and reported it to the 114th Precinct.
Police have released surveillance photos of both suspects and are asking anyone with any information to call 1-800-577-TIPS.
