Construction is expected to start on a large retail and office complex this year that is likely to turn 30-30 Northern Blvd into a destination for big box stores, rooftop restaurants and lounges.
The development will be connected to the neighborhood’s iconic 7-story Apple Building (see photo below).
The combined property will include three floors of retail space and more than 400,000 square feet of office space.
The complex is expected to house 3,000 employees and will attract an estimated 1,000 people in additional foot traffic.
There will be two levels of underground parking with valet services.
Winick Realty Group, which is marketing the property, announced the construction on behalf of Alma Realty Corp.
“This is a perfect opportunity for a big box retailer to make their presence known in Long Island City,” said Steven Baker, the president of Winick.
“We are pleased to be part of this incredible project that will help reshape the Long Island City retail landscape,” Baker said.
