A fire broke out on the second floor of a 35th Street building Wednesday morning, injuring four, according to the FDNY.
FDNY officials said the fire started on the second floor of 31-18 35th St. at 11:15 a.m.
More than 100 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the second alarm fire.
It took an hour to bring the fire under control. Four people, including one firefighter, sustained injuries as a result, the FDNY said.
Three were transported to Mount Sinai Queens with non-life threatening injuries.
Mirza Azam, who was home for college for Thanksgiving, was with his parents on the third floor.
“I woke up from the smoke and thought the fire was in our apartment, and couldn’t find it, and realized it was coming from downstairs,” he said. “I opened the front door and there was smoke everywhere, and people running down the stairs.”
The cause of the fire is unknown and an investigation is underway.
