It’s a political party.
Q.E.D., the Astoria venue that often hosts comedy shows at its 27-16 23rd Ave location, is screening the Republican debate this Thursday and is bringing in a few comics to spice up the event.
The venue describes the upcoming debate as a “three ring circus,” and said it is planning to add to the hilarity by bringing in comedians such as Frank Conniff to provide commentary during the evening.
Conniff, host of the monthly show Cartoon Dump at Q.E.D., will be one of the commentators.
Conniff is best known for his role as TV’s Frank on Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Joining Conniff will be comedian John Fugelsang, who hosts Tell Me Everything, a show on SiriusXM, where he shares his views on politics, the media and more.
The debate, which begins at 9 p.m., will be screened on two large HD televisions and features the top 10 candidates vying for the Republican Party nomination.
Tickets are $8, which includes one drink and one slice of pizza.
