Police are searching for a man who allegedly struck a pedestrian in the head with a blunt object on an Astoria street last month.
The suspect approached the 34-year-old male victim in front of 36-49 34th Street, on June 17th at approximately 2:45 pm, and struck the victim in the head with an unknown object, according to the NYPD.
The victim suffered a laceration to his head and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital for treatment.
Police released a surveillance video of the suspect, who has dark hair, shown wearing a dark colored tank top, as he strikes the victim.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

Allegedly thumped? Looks like he’s actually thumping him, and who knows if the guy deserved a beating. Not helping the cops on this one, sorry.
An expensive zip code with high crime. Only in NY folks.
The zip code is actually low in crime…one of the lowest in fact. Astoria and neighboring queens neighborhoods are lower in crime than the Bronx, Brooklyn, and lower Manhattan.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the video shows a man hitting a bunch of square blocks not a person!
