Patrons will be able to try out Bareburger’s new Southern-style restaurant al fresco when it opens this summer.

Community Board 1 approved the establishment, located at the former Athens Café spot at 32-07 30th Avenue, for a sidewalk café with 29 tables and 74 seats on Tuesday.

This represents slightly more than half of the total seating. The café will stretch around 30th Avenue to 32nd Street, but will not include Newtown Avenue.

The outdoor café will be open for the restaurant’s launch, according to operations manager Tom Sardo, which is slated for the end of June or early July.

Burnside Biscuit’s menu will include fried chicken, biscuit sandwiches and wood-fired vegetables, as well as southern cocktails and local beer on tap.
