Peruvian restaurant to open on Broadway

A small Peruvian restaurant is expected to open on Broadway next month.

The restaurant, to be called Nasca, will be located at 34-20 Broadway, and is expected to open June 12, according to Diego Manosalvas, the owner.

Manosalvas said the menu will feature a wide variety of Peruvian items, including fish, pork and chicken dishes.

“We will keep the concept Peruvian, but with an American twist,” he said.

The restaurant will also offer cocktails, select beers and wine, Manosalvas said. However, he is still waiting to receive his liquor license.

The restaurant will be able to seat up to 40 people, but Manosalvas said he is also applying for a sidewalk café, which would allow him to add 10 seats and five tables.

Manosalvas, who currently lives in Woodside, said he grew up in Long Island City and Astoria and is very familiar with the neighborhood, which led him to open the restaurant at this location.

“I love the neighborhood,” he said.

The location was previously a Coldstone Creamery, which closed in December.

However, Coldstone will be opening a new location on the corner of Steinway Street and 28th Ave, which had previously been occupied by an organic fruit and vegetable market.

Twenty individuals were indicted and variously charged in a wide-ranging scheme to steal cars in Queens, throughout New York City and its suburbs, following a three-year investigation by the Queens District Attorney’s Office, the NYPD, and the New York State Police dubbed “Operation Hellcat,” into the criminal enterprise based in Queens.
