The owners of a popular 30th Avenue barbecue joint have plans to open a café, according to sources.
Dino Phillippou and Dimitri Paloumbis, the owners of MexiBBQ, are expected to open a cold-brewed coffee shop at 37-04 30th Ave in coming months, several people said.
A representative for the owners confirmed that they are taking over the space. The spokesman declined to say what the space would be used for.
Both men have ownership stakes in several Astoria bars and clubs.
Paloumbis owns Break Bar and Billiards, located at 32-04 Broadway, while Phillippou is a co-owner of Cavo, a nightclub located at 42-18 31st Street.
The new space is currently under construction.

oh great, just what we need, another café on 30th. why not another hookah bar on Steinway, sheesh!
